We have lost an elder, Bapak Hermanus Bonggoibo. He was a freedom fighter, a senior member of the West Papuan Military Council (Dewan Militer OPM-TPN). He was based in Port Moresby since the 1980's where he settled and supported the Independence Movement of West Papua.
In 2019 I have met him in Port Moresby during a one week ULMWP internal meeting. He accompanied the West Papuan Customary Council to symbolicly present a Sumber, a traditional Byak sword/machete, to a PNG politician. He said: 'son that's my Sumber, don't worry I still have another one back home' and he smiled proudly.
Dear Bapak Ade Bonggoibo, thank you for your Fighting Spirit. Thank you for all your support all this years. Don't worry we will struggle on.
